Our Trauma, PTSD & CPTSD Therapy
About Kei
My name is Kei (pronounced “Kay,” like the letter “K”). I’m a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive therapist offering online therapy for adults in Chicago and across Illinois. I specialize in trauma recovery and work with clients navigating PTSD, CPTSD, Complex trauma, anxiety, panic disorder, depression, dissociation, codependency, and addiction-related concerns.
Reaching out for therapy takes courage—especially when you’ve been feeling alone, powerless, or unsafe for a long time. I believe no one should have to struggle alone. Trauma can keep you feeling stuck in the past, but healing is possible. My role is to support you in processing painful experiences, rebuilding a sense of safety, and moving forward with greater stability, self-trust, and confidence.
My Approach
In therapy, I use evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches tailored to each client’s needs. My work often integrates EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experience (SE), Motivational Interviewing, Existential Therapy, and relationship-focused therapy. When appropriate, I use EMDR and IFS to help clients process difficult memories and reduce trauma-related symptoms. I also emphasize the importance of building healthy boundaries and strengthening emotional regulation in everyday life.
What Makes My Work Different
I’m committed to creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients feel respected and understood. I value collaboration and work closely with clients to develop personalized treatment goals and a pace that feels emotionally safe. As a member of a minority community, I also understand the importance of cultural sensitivity and strive to offer a therapeutic environment where clients from all backgrounds can feel valued, seen, and heard.
Training & Certifications
I am an EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) Certified EMDR Therapist. I have completed The Trauma Research Foundation’s Certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies, developed by Dr. Bessel van der Kolk and taught by expert clinicians and researchers in the field of traumatic stress. I also hold Evergreen Certifications Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level 2 (CCTP-II), and I continue to pursue advanced training in evidence-based trauma treatment, including IFS-informed approaches.
Other specialized training:
Certified Narcissistic Abuse Treatment Clinician (NATC)
Certified Personality Disorder (C-PD)
